Sex Crime Dismissed/Expunged

|

Being falsely charged with a sex crime can be one of the most humiliating and detrimental events in a person's life. The charge alone can alienate the individual from his family, friends and society. Also, being charged with a sex crime such as sexual assault, child molestation and/or child pornography can result in termination or suspension from employment and create extreme financial hardship.

In December of 2010, our Client was charged with an alleged sex crime. Fortunately, as a result of our knowledge and experience in the area of Rhode Island sex crimes law, the charges against our Client were dismissed by the Judge prior to trial. It is gratifying to have been able to help our Client clear his name, rehabilitate his reputation in the community and continue with his extremely successful career.

Recently our Client's record was expunged, allowing him to maintain a clean criminal record, avoid any employment issues and avoid the social stigma associated with sex crimes.

As a frequent lecturer for the Rhode Island Bar Association and Salve Regina University on the topic of Rhode Island sex crimes, I am devoted to helping those falsely accused of these embarrassing and traumatic charges. In 2005, my article entitled "Surveying Sex Crimes Law in Rhode Island" was published in the Rhode Island Bar Journal and in 2006 I was appointed by Governor Carcieri to serve on the Sex Offender Board of Review.

If you or a family member has been charged with sexual assault, child molestation, child pornography or any other sex crime in Rhode Island, please contact the Law Offices of Robert H.
