As reported by Bryan Rourke in the September 10, 2010 edition of the Providence Journal, a serious accident resulted in injuries for Salve Regina students. The accident occurred early in the morning, near the famous The Breakers estate. The car driven by a Salve Regina student hit the gates surrounding The Breakers. The driver and three other passengers were all transported to various hospitals. The "jaws of life" was used to remove one of the students from the vehicle.
Their injuries include broken ribs, broken femurs, broken leg, broken pelvis and internal injuries. Newport Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
